What you need to know
When choosing what window tinting option is right for you there are a few important things to know and consider.
VLT Explained
Visible light transmission is a measure of tint 'darkness', it is written as the percentage of light able to pass through the film. Therefore 20% allows less light through and is darker to look at than 35%.
Vic Regulations - what does "darkest legal" really mean.
In Victoria, restrictions apply to how dark your vehicle windows can be tinted.
Windscreen: can put small tint strip across top 10% of screen
Front Side Windows: darkest tint allowed is 35% VLT
Back windows and rear screen: darkest allowed is 20%
Therefore when getting windows tinted you have the option of 35% on all windows, OR 35% on the front 2 and 20% on the rest. See the cover photo on this page for the combo option to compare the two shades of tint available.
